Aesthtics aside, Bricklettes™ is a conscious lifestyle brand that remains mindful of not only parents and children, but the world around us. Our blocks are completely safe for your little ones (and for the environment!). Each cardboard brick is printed with water-based, food-safe inks (meaning no hazardous air pollutants, and minimal VOCs) and made from food-safe cardboard as well (think: a pizza box material). Plus, our cardboard blocks can go straight into your recycling bin at the end of their life cycle, where they will break down more quickly than most (if not all) other toys on the market. 

As an added bonus - for each restock of Bricklettes™, one tree is planted. And finally, our blocks are made in the U.S. in small batches (which means they aren't mass produced, shipped on a cargo boat halfway across the world, or stored in fulfillment centers for lengthy periods of time using up valuable energy and resources). 

Our blocks are extremely sturdy -- they can hold up to 150 lbs. and withstand a LOT of wear and tear from active little ones -- whether it be throwing and kicking, using them as a "chair" or "bed", or just your every-day tower tumbling! 

The generous size of our blocks makes them perfect for open-ended and pretend play. But building blocks aren't just fun -- they have been associated with learning and education for centuries and are crucial pillars of both Montessori and STEM toy categories. A few benefits associated with block play:

Typically, it seems that around 18 months is the starting age for large blocks like ours. That said, they are lightweight enough for a younger child to easily lift, and you won't have to worry about them being injured if they drop them. It all depends on the little one in question -- for us, our oldest kids were around 22 months, while our youngest started enjoying toppling a stack of these blocks around 10 months of age. 

Precisely because our youngest was so little when she started playing with cardboard blocks, we took that experience into account while developing Bricklettes -- ensuring that our blocks are made from 100% FDA-approved food safe materials (both ink and cardboard), just in case they end up in the mouths of any babies who are still teething. 

When it comes to the top of the age bracket, we honestly don't really think there is one! Even as parents ourselves now, we find ourselves enjoying playing with the blocks maybe more than we should ... and we have heard that kids of all ages still find fun and creative ways to interact with them!

Because we are a small, parent-run business currently fulfilling all of our orders after bedtime or at naptime while also juggling full-time jobs with 3 kids under the age of 4 running around, delivery time takes longer than your average Amazon order ... but we promise that it's worth the wait! Outside of the holiday season, we aim to keep our order processing time under 15 business days, and in most cases are able to ship out within a few days.
